Getting Things Drupal (GTD): How the Drupal community works
About this session
Drupal isn't just a software project. It's also a growing community of individuals, teams and companies who build, design, theme and develop sites with Drupal.
In this session we'll talk about what it means to be a "good citizen" in the community, how to best utilize the resources available on Drupal.org and the *.drupal.org sites and where to look in the growing ecosystem of professional Drupal services in order to find the right people.
We will also hear about successes, mistakes to avoid and tips for engaging the community with well-crafted job announcements, in discussions on Drupal.org and on IRC, and ways to get the most out of Drupal conferences like DrupalCamps and DrupalCons.
Would you like to co-present?
This is a good session topic to have as a panel discussion. If you'd like to co-present this session, please leave a comment below or contact Christefano directly.

Count Me In!
Christefano, May I join you!? ;-)
I gave a similar session in Colorado a month ago. It was my 1st time trying it out. It went VERY well!
Here are the slides: http://drupalcampcolorado.org/sites/default/files/DrupalCampColorado.pdf
Here is the session description:
Drupal is BIG and only getting bigger. There is room for everyone and when I say “everyone” I mean YOU! Maybe you’re not ready to write the next biggest module or submit a patch for core. There are still many ways that you can participate in the community and get some street creds. We’re going to cover as much as we can in here. We’re going to leave some time for Q-n-A as well. The points I really want to make are as follows: Getting and using your Drupal.Org account Getting and using your Groups.Drupal.Org account How to get on IRC and chat with Drupalers from around the globe [And why you need to] The benefits of being an individual member of the Drupal Association. [I’ll explain what that is] How to contribute to the Drupal.Org handbook! [We Want You to WRITE THE HANDBOOK!] :-) How to find or START local Drupal Users Group. [Like I did in Indianapolis Indiana]
AND FINALY, Why doing all this will help not only your street creds BUT you income potential as well! If you have any questions about this session contact me http://dougvann.com/contact-doug-vann
Sure!
I just sent you an email with my planned focus and agenda.
